SS, please stop trying to aggitate the thread. Is it OK, or is it verboten? Or, and this is just a thought, we could accept that people are going to talk about the game, and sometimes they will say things we don't like about the game, but that's the cost of doing business on a public forum and we could not be petty dicks when we make new threads. Here's a question: is my post about authenticators above on topic by the rules of the OP? It talks about the game, but it also talks about what other games do and tangentially talks about business models. Making digs at the two most active posters from the previous thread because they said things he didn't like about the game are a better solution? Trying to discuss in-game stuff and getting bogged down by multi-page derails about the things he mentioned are not a better alternative. I'm also against Stormbluff Isle just because going there would somehow prove Silvermind right My preference would, of course, be to avoid that entire list since there are plenty of other servers to choose from. At that point, I'm just not logging back in again. You've got to spend half an hour on the phone with customer service in order to get the authenticator off your account.have fun with that. Cell phone authenticators might be worse, because have fun if you quit the game, get a new phone, then decide you might want to try it again for a month a year later. It would be really nice if game publishers would standardize on a particular format for authenticators and just let us have one, instead of having a dozen for all the different games we might have tried. This means if you get hacked there's zero functional hit unless the hackers also got your email address (and honestly, if I've got your email address I'm probably going for something bigger than your GW2 account).

Instead of key fobs, though, which just tend to clutter things as you try more and more MMOs, I'd rather see them implement Rift's coin lock system, which prohibits you from buying, selling, creating, destroying or sending anything whenever you log in from a different IP than the last one you used, until you enter a code that was emailed to your account email address. Expect a big push for them shortly after launch like Rift did. I haven't heard anything about key fobs yet, which I expect means they won't have them at launch. Have they mentioned key fobs/authenticators? I would expect all the servers claimed in the list quoted above will have large pops on launch. Probably will be on vacation at launch! I vote crystal desert without any knowledge of the guilds landing there (i have fond memories of struggling through the desert once upon a time). I expect I'll find a Euro alt-guild so I can do some organised PvE when the Arsguild are mostly asleep or at work.

It'd be nice to get on a server with a healthy WvWvW presence but not one where WvW is always full (and/or full of idiots). We should try to avoid being on the ghost-town server.
